I would have to say the strongest element in the universe is Love. For that is what binds the universe together, and allows us to live.
Love can conquer hate.
Love can heal all wounds.
Love can give the weakest person strength and courage.
Love can add warmth and life to light.
Let us all love one another. There is always more than enough to share. It's the best renewable resource ever.

when i first read ur ques i thought u wanted to know abt. elements like hydrogen oxygen etc, the answer would have been carbon(as diamond) but if u r considering them from dark to light(i.e mythological or basic elements) i will say that it's definitely light, because a sinlgle ray of light is enough to dispel night, however dark it may be.
