I would like to find and hang out with real ninjas when I visit Tokyo in a few months. Where could I do such a thing? Would hanging out with a ninja be safe? What do ninjas eat and drink? What would be a good gift to bring a ninja to ensure a successful meeting?

You will find them sneaking stealthily around back alleys.
They eat sushi, sashimi, teriyaki chicken and octopus balls....they are also quite partial to chocolate.
In order to get in their favour you could try giving them a big box of assoted creams and a DVD of 'The Last Samurai'. You must then watch it with them and shake your head sadly with them at the unfortunate scene where the ninjas get their arses kicked by samurai (most insultingly, Tom Cruise)
It would be relatively safe to hang with ninjas - the school systems are scarier - try that and you could end up on Battle Royale

Well, ninjas are ancient japanese warriors(keyword ancient) and it is imposible to find them anywhere because they dont exist any more but that fighting styles are still practiced in typical japanese cities. If you want to hang out with a ninja it depends if you approach to him as a friend or foe so it depends on you. Ninjas eat just like any normal human being what the hell did u think???... Well unless you know a ninja well or have a good relationship with one it isnt a good idea to get him a gift. If you really want to give him a gift give him a weapon(katana etc) or something like that.

The last REAL Ninja was killed off I belive some timme in the 90's. But is you did,Here's some info-
•You would be able to do that probably in an advanced martial arts studio
•It would be pretty safe, but the ninja might not like to talk too much.
•Ninja's drink alot of water,and eat healthy. They need to keep up a healthy ninja lifestyle.
•This one is tough.Ninja's like small things,but not highly mechanical.

There are no more ninja's alive in Japan. However, you can visit the castles where they used to stay and some even fight. It's an awesome sight and there are relics of ninja outfits and photos. That's the closest you can get to the real thing.

The only place you can hang out with Ninjas in Japan is in the video game arcade. Just find one, there are many, and grab some coins. Have fun.

Yeah dude. Like Federico says, you can't just go up to a ninja and say hi, let's hang out. What's wrong with you.
One thing you gotta remember is don't sneak up behind them cuz they'll get pissed off and disappear in a cloud of smoke.
They're usually hanging out in the underground ninja clubs in Tokyo.
Just keep checking the clubs and you'll find one. You'll know when you found one because it's gonna be the one with a crowd of people dressed in all black carrying swords and crouching low like. Don't talk to them either. it pisses them off and they'll start jumping on buildings and cussing you out. And like, throw smoke bombs at you and stuff.

Watch the 'ninja' in action and have your pictures taken with them too. My nieces just visited me here in Japan and they wanted to have their pics taken with 'ninja', so I took them here. Tochigi is their hometown, (*^o^*) my nieces, NOT the ninja, and they had a great time! I got some excellent pics too. My nieces didn't take a gift, so you don't have to either, but it's nice of you to offer!

The best and only place, to find Ninjas, in Tokyo, is at the movie theater. You can find them up on the screen.
