THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT CAREER IS GREAT and VERY REWARDING...

Employment in the health care industry continues to grow like never before. This includes the need for new talents in the medical assisting field.

The growing need comes from the ever growing and aging population and an increased interest in health care occupations. Medical assisting is an ideal career for those who want to get into the job fast and enjoy working with people. It might be true... most medical assistants feel they are underpaid (starting salary $9 - $12 on average) but their main reason why they love this job is because they want to make a difference in their community via a medical office!

I suggest you visit the link I will provide you at the very end of this message. The link takes you to the Medical Assistant Net Website where every effort has been made to describe the true nature of the medical assistant's work environment. There are many many web page to explain what working in a medical office typically entails!

An MA is a great feild if your cut out for it. But you need to check out the demand in your area for it. MA classes are for 6 mo. in 6mo. you could have training as LVN. LVN can go to work any where, MA can only work in a doctors office. Hospitals dont hire MA's. I made this mistake and took a long road finding out the hard way, check all your options and the most practical and versital. its your time and $ where's it best spent? to work one place or anywhere. Good Luck, Hope this helps.

Underpaid ($8-10 hr, maybe) and over worked and underappreciated.
Go to school for 2 years and become a dental hygentist. $35/hr. You can set your own schedule too. That's more $ than teaching with a master's degree. ($30-40K depending on experience) Teaching sucks now with the SOL's (VA). It used to be great.
Work on your writing skills too.

With this, you want to go by skill of your clinical assistant preparation. when you've done this, you're eligible to sit down a try the position you'll get qualified, and then you would possibly want to a CMA.

My brother-in-law is a doctor and he says that he would rather be a P.A. because you can make a good living and there are a lot less problems than being a doctor

M.A's make pretty decent cash, but the hours can be long, and the work frustrating. It is, however a very good job.
