If you're planning on attending college in the fall (which I only assume because you mentioned honors classes) you may want to begin reading more challenging texts. I remember reading Amy Tan in a freshman lit class. She's light enough for pleasure reading, but is considered 'literary' enough for your professors. Personally, I suggest 'The Sun Also Rises' by Hemmingway or 'Slaughterhouse 5' by Kurt Vonnegut, but you seem to enjoy more contemporary novels. If you like Dan Brown you may like Anita Diamant's 'The Red Tent.' It's not as "thrilling" as Dan Brown's novels, but it does blend history and fiction in much the same way.

Hi there. I'm the author of a new medieval fantasy book that you might like. It has received excellent reviews in the national media and is being considered for a movie deal. The title is THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY. It's 445 pages of action, adventure, magic, mystery and mayhem. If you like Conan, LOTR or Harry Potter type books, this may be one you'll enjoy.
If you'd like to sample it, I can send you a FREE, 4 chapter eBook demo if you email me at FiveStarAuthor@aol.com. That way, you can check it out without spending a dime. Fair enough?
Good luck, whatever you decide to read!
Jon F. Baxley (Author, Editor, Ghostwriter and Proofreader)
THE SCYTHIAN STONE (eBook only)
THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY (eBook and hard cover)

Hey,
This is a link where you can downlod for free King Arthur Gold: http://bitly.com/1qXIAkN
Finally the full version is avaiable!
Players of the King Arthur’s Gold title are required to construct siege machines for the destruction of their enemies, buildings for the production of military units and resources, and of course mines for gold.
It's a really nice game.

Try Still Life With Crows by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. The writing is amazing, the plot is full of twists( I never guessed the ending), and the use of description and detail draws you in.

John Grisham is good (if you don't like legal thrillers, try his A Painted House and Bleachers).
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is good. Band of Brothers. Babyhood by Paul Reiser.

I would go to a used book store or a local library and ask what they suggest. My favorite for the summer is mystery novels - i love who-done-its, but if yer looking for a great historical fantasy- look for "The Deepest Sea" by Charles Barnitz. Its out of print but its all over the internet and it is FANTASTIC!!!! Its one of the best ever in my opinion! have fun reading~;)

i liked to kill a mockingbird, the perks of being a wallflower was all right, the sloppy firsts-second helpings-charmed thirds books i've heard are good...i read the first one and thought it was okay...those are by meagan mccafferty, love and other four letter words by carolyn mackler was a very good book, i thought...and also i just read monster by walter dean meyers...i thought that was pretty good...there's a book i'm reading now called violet & claire by francesca lia block...so far it's pretty good but i'm only halfway through it...and also the redwall books by brian jaques are pretty good...and the hobbit, but you've probably read that already...its the prequel to LOTR, and thats all i can think of right now.
