Dir en Grey is coming to my hometown in August with a few American bands and I really want to show my support for them in particular. I'm dying to go as Kyo from the Drain Away PV, but I'm having a few difficulties. If anyone can help me with any item on Kyo in the pictures below, I would be SO VERY GRATEFUL. Well, he's wearing badges but it looks unclear what they are. Just wear random badges. I know most people make their own costume but.. that takes too much time and especially for just a concert rather than a convention so i'm sure you can find an accurate enough vest, say at a thrift store. You could probably find the collar anywhere too.
As for the shirt, it looks like a black dress shirt that's unbuttoned near the end of the shirt. Once again, you can find a type of shirt like this at most stores. The only problem is the fluffy lace in the front. If you can't find a direct copy of this shirt, the only thing I can think of to do is buy a black dress shirt, find the exact black color and buy some fabric of somesort and start sewing to make the fluffy outer layer.
The belt is pretty common, in fact I have one myself. The jean shorts should be fun. My advice is to use an old pair of jeans and have fun cutting them. The loose bottom of the cut jeans might be a challenge so have fun cutting them and pulling the threads out. Looks as if it will take a while. For his pants, I have NO clue what are underneath the panty-hose? Red tight stage pants? That's all I can think of. And finally, the shoes. Looks like either red boots or red rain boots.. choose. And get yellow lacing.
I have no clue where you will find red boots. I've never seen any around my area.. but that doesn't say much. Hope to at least helped a little. I'm not much of a cosplay fan myself but this is what I would do if I were to ever.
