I'm 17 weeks pregnant, and the size of my belly is constantly changing. At night times it looks rather big, and when I first wake up in the morning, I look like I might not be pregnant at all. Is this normal? I have had assurance from the doctor by ultrasound and listening to the baby's heartbeat that the baby is OK. I also feel little kicks every now and then.

When my wife was pregnant her body would change throughout the day. We would notice things like ankles getting swollen by the end of the day etc. Changing from horizontal to vertical positions might be a reason for the change in your appearance. All the fluid shifts around but not quite like water in a balloon so it might take a little time. If you are really worried you can ask your doctor at your next visit. I know it is hard 'cause you want to be the best mother but try not to worry too much. We worried about everything; honestly it was needless worry. Good luck.

Welcome to pregnancy. Your belly will constantly change with the baby's position, if you have eaten a big meal, if you need to have a BM, or for no reason at all. Some women look pregnant from the get go (me), and some women can look normal and thin as a rail until they give birth (my mother, who worked at a school until her 9th month where you CANNOT work if you are pregnant because no one could tell). Enjoy your pregnancy and the fun little games you can play (will tomorrow be a big or little day, then make the baby kick, and later name that bump).

Write down any questions or concerns and ask your doctor at your next appointment if you are worried.

Its normal, fluid shifts around d uring the day and your belly muscles relax which hold your baby tightly in there. So by the end of the day with a relaxed tummy and a little fluid you will naturally look bigger. You will also feel stitch like and pullling pains as well this is the ligaments taking all the weight

Dont u remember how your body changed from morning to night before you were pregnant? Still the same now but with added punch!!!!!

The shape of your belly will change size as the baby changes positions. At night when you are lying down on your back the baby sinks down lower than when you are standing up.
Relax and don't worry so much.

Yes it is perfectly normal. It is because the baby is moving around in different positions. I'm 32 weeks and my belly is huge sometimes, big at times, and looks small sometimes.

Congratulations, But honey you need to relax, just think about how your body reacts to different things eg, your period. your bloated during the day because your body is adjusting to pregnancy your baby is still only tiny so there is no need to worry, your very flat in the morning as your stomach is empty, Good luck and i hope everything turns out wonderfully.

That's just your baby moving around. Granted your little one isn't all that big yet, but remeber you body is preparing to carry this baby so your organs are being pushed around out of the way. No worries.
