Half of the answers I'm getting say it's 10 wih 12 0's, half say it's 10 with 13 0's. Which one is it? Can you prove it?

Take your time to read my answer. It may be the shortest explanation.
Any number can be written in a standard form, for example
3456.78 = 3.45678 * (10 ^ 3)
3.45678 * (10 ^ 3) is called as the standard form of the number 3456.78. Since this takes quite time to write and to type in scientific calculators and computers, it is written as 3.45678E3.
So, now you guess what is the meaning of 10E12.
