I mean the reason is I answer questions mostly with truth and honesty but a lot of people here just see it as a fun thing to do to take the piss or ridicule others...

Truth and honesty are obviously part of your character while fun,ridicule and taking the p#ss is part of some other people's characters...

I guess it was made for people can help each other all around the world and get better solution since we are a lot of users. I agree with you that there's some people that is just messing around and answering just for points or fun and i think this is not good. I think you should only answer if you know you can help because there are many delicate questions.

I answer questions on yahoo answers for the most part in an effort to fulfill my purpose. (I have no life, you see. So, there's no other way I've found to do it.)
Of course, the developers of yahoo answers, I'm sure had other ideas in mind- like getting you on their site and somehow making money- commercialism and capitalism ... not my strong point so I don't know how they do it- but I'm sure they do.
And of course, there are the idiots who don't take anything serious and see nothing but opportunity to put down others or play with their heads- it's sad. But I don't know how to get rid of them, either. They are pathetic, aren't they?

I think the purpose of Answers was meant to be a people helping people type of site. Unfortunately, it has turned into a circus - though some people still use it to ask for and answer with real information.

It is a chance for everybody to prove their worth. The genuine caring types will answer your question compassionately. The ego tripping 'johnny-no-friends' will abuse the opportunity to help for self-promotion and so on. Rise above the abuse - It's a great way of seeing others for what they really are.

Its meant to be a serious community help line. I see it as a way of helping others. Unfortunately we are dealing with the world and not everyone has the same respect for our fellow beings

everyone is on here for different reasons. i'm on here because i'm bored out of my mind and i like to look at the questions and see how insane some people can be. i like to answer questions. i can be funny, i can be sarcastic, i can be helpful, but i'm always honest. i can't speak for everybody.

A massive amount of answers is doing the job of worthless american and other teachers and irresponsible pathethic parents who dont give their kids proper sex ed so they have to come here.
