I wanna know why the UN Secretary General could not be from the state having permanent seat in UN security Council. The Member states are China, France, UK, USA and Russia.

The UN would have concentrated too much authority within a single nation if the secretary-general also came from a country that was a permanent member of the "security council."

Too much concentration of power, but it's not like they have any real power anyway. It is always good to have a disinterested third viewpoint on controversial issues.
