Aren't all people entitled to thier beliefs/non-beliefs? I have encountered a number of narrow minded people in this community, who are vehement about thier beliefs and that the majority of us are wrong.
We don't judge them for thier beliefs - so why do they judge others? While I am not gay, it seems to be the gay community that recieves the most 'telling offs'.

Thankyou all for your answers and opinions - all valid and all interesting. Just a bit of clarification on myself, as I have recieved a few 'unfavourable' judgements on my intellect and spiritual understanding.

Firstly - I am an extremely well educated individual and believe that knowledge and understanding hold the key to many facets in life. Secondly - I have my own spiritual beliefs and have achieved communication on other planes that most others may never achieve in a lifetime. I just generally believe that it is a private matter and believe we all have our own spiritual journey - however this may represent itself.
Being a good person and knowing in your heart that we are all equal takes more than just faith.

You seem to be asking two questions, then hint at a third. The first, "Why do they (some people who have a solid faith), insist on pushing it onto others?"

When I see "faith" I immediately think "religious faith," and when some of those who have a solid religious faith insist on pushing it onto others, they are likely to be evangelical, which charges them with spreading the Word. For others, their faith has so changed their lives that, evangelical or not, they cannot contain their happiness and must share with others.

As you elaborate your question you ask a second and hint at a third: "We don't judge them for their beliefs - so why do they judge others?" What you see as "judging" to them may be seen as having accepted the Truth. That Truth is so obvious it can be blinding in its clarity and all the more mystifying that others can't, don't or refuse to see it. That in turn, couples with a sense of urgency to save the rest of us.

And then, "While I am not gay, it seems to be the gay community that recieve the most 'telling offs'." This seems to go into a different territory. The gay community receiving the most 'telling offs' may be from those who are anti-gay and/or homophobic; or simply ignorant and/or immature.

Well accoerding to most religions you're supposed to spread the 'Good news', however it is completely up to that person to accept it or not. SO there's a way to go about it w/o forcing it down ppl's throats. If you've ever noticed there's a lot ppl aren't supposed to do, but they do it anyway and vice versa. So it's not entirely the religion its just sometimes ppl tend to think they're better than others because they've found religion, but in reality it hasn't really sunk in cause if it had, TRUST baby girl, you would know. They wouldn't act like that.
About the narrowminded-ppl, sometimes ppl think that what they're doing is right, so its kind of hard to to get them to believe in something that goes against things they've known all their life. U feel me?

I am sorry that you have encounter people who have tried to push their faith down your throat. The fact of the matter is that sometimes people are trying to encourage others, but don't know how to go about it. To "judge" or "tell off" is not a Christian thing to do. While we hate the sin, but should never hate the sinner. God wishes none to perish, but for all to attain everlasting life in His Kingdom. (2Timothy 2:4) Instead of looking at others, take a look at what you are doing...before you take the splinter out of your brother's eye, remove the rafter from your own eye...somewhere in Matthew...Again...let those who are without sin cast the first stone. Unfortunately, there are those who will take a scripture and turn it into something that will suit their purpose. My advice is to go to the Source...Jesus...pray...ask for His guidence...Jesus speaks to ALL, not just some...His answer may not come when you think it should, but in His time...remember...not everyone who says they are Christian really are...remember the scripture that says to beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. I pray that you be well and blessed.

"Thou shalt not judge, lest ye be judged yourself" I am Christian, and I don't force anyone into believing anything. I have Pagan and Wiccan friends and we are all very educated on each other's religion. I differ in the fact that I have no problem with gay people. I have several gay friends, too...that go to church. And while it is condemned in the bible, who am I to judge them? I love them for how they are, who they are and how we treat each other. I smoke cigarettes and drink alchohol occasionally. I had a baby out of wedlock AND I cuss like a sailor. Who am I to say what other people deserve?

You want to know the honest truth? The reason is because we care about you. Just like your parents care about you we care about you. You when you were younger probably rebeled against your parents and didn't feel like hearing this stuff they were telling you. We preach faith in God to you and you don't want to hear it. Later, you say just like your parents "You were right!", that's also what you say about us later in life with the topic of faith and religion. It's not that we think were better than you, it's that we love you as a brother or sister because we're all created from the creator (God) and want you to experience the same joy in life that he gives us in life!

well this is the way the world goes. i guess it is their freedom of opinion that gives them the right to be able to sprout their idealisms of a utopian society. i for one do not agree with their lifestyle but i couldn't care less. i think sexual desires for one another should be something private period weather you are gay or straight. there is also the desire for others to agree with them. like small example i am sure u do not agree with sex with a minor right? but there is this org that supports it called nambla.
(north american man boy love association) they believe it is ethical to have intercorse with young boys.) they do not want to hear our beliefs reguarding what is wrong with it. just as NORMAL people do not want to hear them perclaim their love for boys. we think it is sick but there are thousands who want to do it and want it to be accepted. so in the end it is wrong to some and right to others no matter how screwy it turns out to be. everything comes out to be people wanting to make themselves the "right" ones. i am sure that you are the same way in somethings. if u do not have an opinion on something then u my dear are braindead. i am sure that if some one were to make a statement about something that u either believe in or hard core disbelieve in you would voice your opinion right? the best thing to do is when some one is telling you something u really do not want to hear is to tell them that if you wanted their opinion you would tell it to them!
