I feel the same way, baseball sucks now. Used to love it, now I don't care. The pregnant pauses between pitches, the sleeping outfielders, roidheads, it feels like people are forcing themselves to still pay attention.

Well, boring is an opinion. I like fast sports like basketball and hockey but I also love baseball.
Rdiculous? I guess anything with history behind it is ridiculous then.
It has become less relevant especially with African Americans so I'll agree with you on that.
Problem is you say this as teams draw record numbers at the gate. If you go back to the '50s and '60s teams were lucky if they drew a million a year...nowadays 3 million is the norm for the top 5 to 10 teams.
I still watch baseball because I like the pennant/playoff races and the way the season unfolds day by day. I like the pitching duels and the defensive plays. I'm not a big HR fan but a triple is one of the most exciting plays in sports.
Hey, just because there is not a "thrill a minute" doesn't mean baseball sucks. Plus watch the playoffs if you want more intense play. Just go to a game and enjoy yourself--it's just a differently paced sport.

Baseball unlike any other sport is a thinking man's game. Do I pinch run? Can my pitcher go another inning? These are the whole thing about baseball. To be able to second guess right there on the spot unlike any other sport baseball players have to play both offense and defense at the same time. Besides I would think with the adjectives you used you are not asking a question but posing a statement which you believe to be true when in all honesty there is more going on, on a baseball diamond they you could know, remember you not only have to think about today but tomorrow and the next day. Cause they play three game series all the time.

Considering I live a 4 and a half hour plane ride to the nearest MLB baseball park I don't really get a choice but to watch it on tv. The only good baseball to watch on tv is Sunday Night Baseball because the announcers are actually good and keep you attentive with lots of background information.

Why do people ask stupid questions that are irrelevant and ridiculous? And this is one of them. I'll tell you why I think people, or at least I still watch baseball, on TV no less. I like sports of all kinds. I'm not a fan of just one sport, I like them all. I like the competition that goes on. Yes there are more whiners in professional sports, but if you're not a true sports fan, you'll ask questions like these.

BTW, has anyone scored in the World Cup, yet, or all all the teams tied at 0-0?

It is a favorite pastime of many men.My bf. watches the Indians religiously.I guess it is comforting to return to something familiar, basic and simple when everything else in the world seems in chaos.
