We are wanting to do an online scavanger hunt in our forums. Since 4th of July is coming up we want the questions to deal with US History or US in general. Does anyone have any idea on how to start or how to do it at all?

That's hard to say without knowing how your forums are set up.
The best bet is to create a new category called Scavenger Hunt. And under that have two sub forums, one to go over all the rules and one to go over what is being looked for.
Make sure that the clues you give won't point to a site that will quit existing or change.
Clues can rhyme or just give a general idea of what's being looked for.
