WHY GOD EXISTS
I like this explanation!
WHY GOD EXISTS
This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen. It's an explanation other people will understand. A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about all kinds of things. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists." "Why do you say that?"asked the customer."Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument! The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.Just after he

well lets see... there is irrefutible evidence that the barber does indeed exist, however you have no real proof other than your faith that god exists. I dont buy it. Im not trying to be an *** im just offering up another point of view. How about this... God does exist, but everything was created five minutes ago. God just gave you the impression of thoughts and memories to make it seem like everything has existed for as long as you are percieving it to have been existing. Debate on religion can go on for a very long time and indeed it has throughout history.

I like where you're going with this, but it is a bad analogy. What about the many people who go to church every Sunday, live good lives according to the Bible, and then get diagnosed with some terminal disease, or experience the loss of a child in a freak car accident, etc.. They have obviously let God in, followed his word, and they are still subject to the terrible things life brings all of us? So I guess in response to your question I have raised a question for you?
If following God guaranteed that nothing bad would ever happen to you, everybody would be a priest or pastor. And then alot of religous zealots will throw at you that "well those are just test of your faith", or "God wanted him/her with him". I just wished people could be good and treat their fellow man without justifying it that their being good for a higher being or so they don't get thrown into hell. There are alot of people that live a just life but do not follow organized religion; what about them?

What about all the starving people in Africa and the thousands of kids there that die each day because of Aids - do they just need to go to god too? If they accepted Christ in their hearts would they miraculously be healed and have food on the table?
No, they wouldn't.
This is just another example of Christians ignoring the facts and making up little stories to tell to people to "prove" that their god exists when in reality you can't explain pain and suffering just by stating that people who live in pain and suffer haven't found god. I'm sorry, but it's just not that easy to explain. Just because someone has given themselves to Christ doesn't mean that they are immune to tragedy - it only gives them the means to have the strength to suffer through it - and that isn't enough to cure incurable diseases and it isn't enough to feed the poor and shelter the homeless.
I believe in god and everything, I'm not a Christian, but I have faith in my ideas about a Creator. I do not; however, possess the balls to proclaim that I know why people suffer.

I'm not going to get into the debate about whether or not God is real. It's stupid. But I will say this.... if any clever story could prove god existed then that whole silly thing about "Having faith" would be pointless.
You know you exist, you know your house and family exists. The whole point is that you don't know god exists. Hence the faith thing.

That was a wonderful explanation... just because people don't see God, it doesn't mean He's not there. We can't see the wind either, but we feel it... therefore we know it exists.

Pointless...he had the barber working on him already, so he saw him with his own eyes and THEN questioned him.
We havent seen god, and he hasnt done any work on us that we are aware of, so do your self a favour and stop exposing yourself as an uneducated redneck all the time....
