Get it out of Small Claims Court. That will give you more time. Have it heard in Civil Court.

Am not sure about "loosing" an eviction ( I didn't realize that they were tight and needed loosening !!! ). But, if you lose an eviction hearing, whether you show up or not ( and most do not show up), the sheriff will be knocking on your door in ten days.
