I have no clue really I just wanted to answer this and say that AUSSIES ARE HOT singing or talking! (((Giggles)))

Usually, if someone is faking an accent, they cannot sing with that accent. If you heard an australian singer who did not sound australian when singing, they were probably not australian. However, it could also be because they have been listening to a lot of people without accents while they were on tour. Therefore weakening their accent enough to make it less noticable while they sing.

It has something to do with the vocal chords and how singing is different from speaking. You will notice this with all the singers...the accent does not come across that strong when they sing.
