Yes, I know Iran's not the best in the world, so first of all, I'd like to ask you all plz don't be hating. Secondly Iran has good soccer in the Asian continent , again not real good, finish up 4th in the group. I mean they ha da good team back in 1998. Is it the coach's fault, the players fault not cooperating or what?

Also they have good players such as Mahdavikia and karimi who Play in german clubs.

You should be proud of just qualifying - this is a major feat for any asian team apart from Korea.

It was all the fault of Ali Daei , he even coached the coach he selected the players, he even designed and ordered the team dress himself, he is like a mafia in Iran's football, if he was not in the team Iran would have won the match with mexico, and the rest would have been easy.
he doesn't understand that he is 37 oh my God! his son could be in the national team by this age.
his hair and beard are white already, he can not even run for 5 minutes!
Iran was playing with 10 players, cause Ali Daei was walking in the field.
He should go and be a seller in his stores. No more football please.

well maybe beacuse the asian teams arent as competetive as the other continents andbesides they had mexico a growing team they had portugal a "one of the bbest teams in europe right know and angola the weakess of all four play with heart and character and were determined not to finish last but sont worry they at least were part of the 32 teams that clasafied for the cup other 200 were left out

You answered your question yourself. They are a big fish in a small pond. Asia is a very weak continent. The only dent really made by Asian teams was when they hosted it in 2002.
Basically, they could have had the greatest coach in the world and with the players they had, at best they'd lose in rd. of 16.

They played ok. They had to beat Angola. But there's no any reason for that. For that we must see the team perform in 2010.

being the best in Asia .. really isn't that great.... put Iran in central or south america, or Europe... and they wouldn't stand a chance.. no matter who the coach is
