i read in social studies and history that there are ancient runways and odd shapes in india and africa and ever since i couldnt stop thinking about them for more than three hours at a time(exept for sleeping). PLEASE if anyone knows about this subject then could you please put my mind at ease and let me know. its starting to give me a headache. lol

Well to my understanding they were used as points of reference to get to the right place. And also they were used as points of the four seasons and their alignment to each other as well as the time of year and when to do ceremonies and other thing of like value.

There is a lovely book explaining many such interesting things. Its called "WAS GOD AN ASTRONAUT" BY Erich Von Daniken. Mind you this guy is a scientist.
Do try to get hold of it. U will be able to find almost all your answers in it.
