When she has the baby it won't be in the baby's system any longer at all. But if she truly doesn't want her baby taken away, tell her to not do it again. Because if she keeps doing it there is a stong possibility that something could happen to the baby, and I'm sure she is scared enough of something happening. I don't know her so I really don't know what the heck she was thinking doing something like that, but I hope she learned her lesson now. Tell her good luck. And knock that stuff off if she wants to make sure her baby doesn't get taken away. Good luck with her.

Yes it will be in the baby's system. depending on what state you live and the drug taken will decide the out come. In N.Y. where I live if they suspect drug us or the mother is under 21 the baby is automatically tested. If the drug is marijuana and there are no birth complications a child protective services worker comes to your home to see if you have everything you need for the baby. if you do have everything needed for the baby a file will be noted of that, but you are allowed to take your baby home and there are no problems if you take your baby to all its doctor's appointments and every things OK. Anything other than weed I'm sorry but the baby would be taken or placed with other family members.

I don't know about all hospitals, but where I work babies are not automatically tested for drug use unless it is suspected or known past use. Drugs do last in the babies system for awhile (not just a few days) and it can easily be tested from blood, urine or stool samples and it can be done without you knowing! Sorry.

whatever this "it" is that might be in her system, she needs support and medical care and she needs to QUIT doing whatever substance it is. Immediately!

and yes there are people who can help and she won't have her baby taken automatically away because they've found that 'crack babies' even do far better when kept with their real moms than when put in foster care or adopted out to strangers.

she has to take care of herself and her baby! this means NO drugs or alchohol during pregnancy and regular prenatal care from a doctor. please check into single parent and young parent resources in your area.

I don't think alcohol stays in the system beyond a few hours - but if she has had something to drink the day she goes into labor they will know and there will probably be serious consequences...I hope they are both okay.

if your doing drugs or drinking while your pregnant you shuld have your baby taken away. everything you eat, drink or sniff will go right to that baby! Why would you even think of doing something like that when you are pregnant. If you did something I HOPE THEY TEST THAT CHILD'S BLOOD because you didnt have enough respect for yourself or that child to let something so f ucking stupid go!

What will be in her baby's system, drugs? yes it will show up in a blood test. And if she is doing drugs, she doesn't deserve to keep a baby anyway

IF YOUR TALKING ABOUT DRUGS AND YOU DO THEM WHILE YOU ARE PREG THEN IF YOU WANT IT OR NOT THE BABY SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY, SO PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT KIDS CAN TAKE CARE OF THEM!!! AND LOVE THEM
BOTTOM LINE ANY THING YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY WHILE YOUR PREG GOES TO THE BABY FROM DAY ONE. IF YOU CANT RESPECT AND LOVE THAT BABY FROM THAT DAY THEN YOU ARE SHOULD GET YOUR BABY TAKEN AWAY.
