I agree! I have never worked as a waitress or bus person, but I have always been a good tipper. I usually tip 20%. The minimum I tip is 15%. These people are relying on this money to make a living. I agree that if someone can't afford the tip, they should stay home!

Now who is going to get the "10 point best answer tip" for this question?

well your question is..simple they are cheap...trying to pinch a nickle here or there. the only time i give a low if non tip is for really bad service or someone that was rude. then i purposely leave 3 or 4 cents..so they KNOW i didn't forget the tip..its what they deserved. otherwise 15% is std..and usually more like 17%... in California its simple to figure out...the tax rate is 8.25%..so double that and add it to the bill...is what i do..and then i round it up if service was really good....tho when i was in Hawaii i almost under tipped because the tax rate was i think 4 or 5 %...but i made sure the tip was still 15% minimum...so the rule i have doesn't always apply (double the tax that is). then i have this "friend" that insist on not paying tip on the tax....which works out to about 4 cents per person at the table...i usually scold him and give him his nickel every time....out of my own pocket...he then feels foolish..yet he does it every time. cheapskate...more or less quit going to lunch with that fool

If tips are a right, get restaurants to charge an automatic service charge. Would you tip your hard-earned money if your server was rude and gave poor service?

Otherwise, I agree, people who receive adequate service should tip their server. If they do not, then they should be allowed to dine at restaurants.
