Always beware when anything is cotton and not labeled to be pre- shrunk. Wash with cold water with items of like color and NEVER dry them in the dryer if there is any type of Lycra or Spandex in your stretch jean. The heat will ruin the elasticity AND cause shrinkage. Hang to dry and wash with Tide that has a touch of Downy so they don't have that hard feeling after drying on the line.

Yes, cotton is shrinkable. Jeans do shrink the first couple times you wear them, that's why you should get them a little loose in the store.

Yes. Especially Black Jeans. Wash them all in cold water. IF possible do not put in the dryer.

WASH YOUR JEANS INSIDE OUT FOR THE FIRST COUPLE TIMES, THEN LINE OR LAY THEM TO DRY. THIS WILL HELP TO SLOW THE SHRINKING PROCESS DOWN ALOT.
