Human beings are a virus which has spread across the entire planet. They multiply uncontrolled and consume all the natural resources in their environment, when the environment can no longer support them they move on to a new environment Now that we have exceeded the earths carrying capacity for our species we must continue to look for a new environment, the only option is space. We must spread to other planets to lighten the load in the earth, before we completely destroy it. Another reason is, if we keep all of man kind on this planet, a single planetary disaster would wipe us out. If we had other planets to hold our population, this would not be as much of a problem

i think that there is some truth in your statement, but i think that humans shouldn't spread to outer space. the other planets in the solar system cannot sustain the kind of life that exists on Earth, and it would be such a shame if we spread the "virus" across the planets. why corrupt things that have been untouched? and if we do conquer the solar system, then don't you think that they would lose their ability to inspire awe? i mean, if that did happen, then we would be on Earth and looking up at Jupiter, not inspired by its massiveness or the fact that a raging storm has been going strong for centuries. instead, we would look at it as if it were something ordinary, thinking something along the likes of, "oh, there's Jupiter, I'm going there next month..."
the reason that humans spread so quickly across the earth is because humans have created new ways to adapt to environments that could have once killed them, have new methods of treating disease, and just live longer. things that once would have killed us don't, and it's messing with evolution and Darwin's theory. i mean, think about it, we are messing with the natural order of things. i think that eventually, what you're predicting will happen because of the abnormal pace at which technology is developing, but just because we can, doesn't mean we should (like dropping nuclear weapons.) but, whatever happens happens, if homo sapiens are wiped out of the universe, then that's unfortunate. if humans spread across the universe, then that's unfortunate.

Ah I remeber the beginning of that quote from the Matrix 3. The truth is that modern humanity acts exactly like a virus. We destroy the environment that substains us in search of a happiness that can never be obtained. Our ultimate goal in life is survival but we end up destroying what we need to live. It would be wise to move humans to other parts of the galaxy so that we might we might continue to survive if a disater strikes earth. We; however, do not have the technology to accomplished such a feat. By scientific standards we are a type zero civilization, This means we are unable to harnish the power of the eartyh(type 1), the poer of the solar system(type 2), or the power of the galaxy(type 3).

Well, we have not completely distroyed this planet yet. I do believe that some day we will live on other planets as well as Earth. I really don't think that we will all be "wiped out!" The strongest shall survive! I wouldn't say that we're a virus either, some of us are actually controlling our ability to reproduce.

And when we do conform to other planets, the people who will evolve on that planet will be made of scientists and rich people....they'll probably "wipe" themselves out within 120 years!

Yes, I agree. We will eventually need to 'spread out' and find new territory outside of our planet or else we will perish. How long that will take is difficult to say. It is rather fruitless, however, in the long, long run because eventually the entire universe will run out of energy and diffuse into a mist and some radiation. Humans are a relatively young phenomenon which popped up on one chunk of dirt in a chaotic and hostile universe who are most certainly doomed to perish individually and collectively in a very short time.

You kinda plagiarized Agent Smith from 'The Matrix' there a little bit, but yeah I agree whole-heartedly, especially with the 'We need to move off this rock' part. If mankind spent half the time, effort and money that we spend on killing each other on the much more worthy endeavor of colonizing space there would be people living on Mars already.

No, I think you are have been listening to too many environmentalists who want to spread fear and loathing about the destruction of this planet. Even if we could, we could never destroy this earth. We might make a dent, but it would take a much greater force then us to completely destroy it.....

Don't believe everything you read....

Nope, I don't agree. According to the Bible, human beings are God's creation. He created us in his image, so we can't be "viruses". He wanted us to multiply, it was one of his commands.

He gave us a beautiful and dangerous gift of "Free will". Unfortunately we have chosen to use this gift to sometimes destroy resources. The good thing is though, there are many, many people that use it for good. Let's not forget them now.

There is a second, less popular option. Population control. Just don't ask me to be the one who decides which set of parents gets to have a baby, and which gets sterilized.
