it depends on the situation. I work on an ambulance. Some conditions can be made MUCH worse if the patient is moved. As long as the patient is breathing, heart is beating and the patient is NOT bleeding BADLY you are better off leaving the patient as found until help arrives.
If there is any chance of spinal or neck injury you need to wait for an ambulance or the fire department to arrive. Most areas have firemen who are trained to the same level as those on ambulances.

Drive them there yourself. Or ask 911 dispatcher to send a taxi ASAP. Call the hospital let them know what you were told and they maybe able to get ambulance to you or have a doc instruct you on what to do.

911 dispatchers NEVER say this. They always either tell you an ambulance is on the way, or give you an approximate time it will arrive (and sometimes both).

say fine then , you tell the police,clear the way!! There's gonna be a 91 Supercharged Ford Tbird,, hauling *** down main and rock ror! then hang up and drop the Hammer with my horn honking all the way!!!! You gotta take charge and not depend on civil servants( who do an excellent job by the way!)

ask for s supervisor and get the caller some help...I have been answering 911 for over 9 yrs and never ever refused someone medical help ever....

every where there is 911 service, they have ambulances,if no ambulance is avaiable, the first responder will come out until one come, a supervisor will come also.

call 911 and tell them someone is commiting a major crime (if its serious enough they will be there) and they can take me if i am bad enough

ask again and if that operator is unresponsive get their name hang up and call back to show you're serious that you need help and hopefully you'll get a better operator.
