If you have a lot of possessions you need to take, then the planning can get more detailed. In that case, take your time, do some research, rent a truck if you need it, take care of things where you are, and go. It helps to have a plan and a place to stay when you get there.

But it sounds to me like you might be looking to get away from something or someone, and I don't know if you have to do this in a hurry or on the sly.

I have done it both ways. I've done the carefully planned out move, and I've done the grab what money I can and run move. They both work out, one can just be a little tougher than the other.

Having a job in the new place first always helps, but depending on your skills or experience, some jobs are just easier to get if you're already in the new town. Temp jobs while you look for the right position could tide you over.

There are cheap motels that rent by the week, and while they're not always the best places to live, it gives you a roof and a base to work from while you find a job and a home.

But keep your chin up - this could be one of the most positive experiences of your life, if you just look at it that way. A little time to be self-sufficient, empower yourself, maybe even get to know yourself better.

well i took 800.00 dollars and my cloths put them in a caddy coupe deville and moved from Chicago to the Lil town i could find in GA. it was called dacula i lived I'm my car about 2 months and lied to a heat and air shop told them i been doing heat and air for 4 yrs and they gave me a job and i found a girl with a apt. moved in and it all worked out got a honer roll student nice Lil house swimming pool so i guess if you have the will you can go anywhere in America and start with just about nothing think about it this way ppl come from all over the world and make it here so surely you could leave a city and move to a new one its all in your own willpower to be successful and happy good luck

First determine where you want to go, search for and send resume out via the internet, find housing via the internet. pack decided whether U want to drive or hire a moving company make sure all this fits in your budget. get plenty of boxes and tape pack and go

Spend about 3 to seven days asking around people about the neighborhoods.then take some numbers for rentals , job oportunities and go back home work your budget and make sure you talk to rental offices and fine an agrement ... come back and get you your apt.
