I have nothing to support my argument whatsoever BUT I just feel it in my gut. I don't trust this as far as I can throw it.

Anyone else feeling like that? I mean when the 2nd wealthiest man IN THE WORLD leaves (what is the exact percent) 60%? of his wealth to the NUMBER 1 RICHEST man in the world, I'm like OMG THE DEVIL IS HERE!!!!

Yeah yeah I know it is going to the foundation but come on give me a break... Everybody knows that for every foundation something like only 5 cents to each dollar ends up going towards the 'cause'.

I just watched their Charlie Rose interview on PBS and man I just feel like this is evil in the works.

Anybody else feeling suspicious about this crap?

Don't forget .. an enormous amount of Buffet's wealth came from insurance. Now, I don't know about you but anybody who gets rich off of insurance (due to the loss of others) is evil.

I THINK IT IS A BUNCH OF CROCK TOO..... I think that it is just one rich man finding a way to get out of paying something, taxes, a lawsuit, something, by way of giving his money to another rich man. I am sure that we are going to hear "the rest of the story" in the months to come. Also, exactly what does these "charities"fund???? I am struggling and could use some of these dollars that are so easily being passed around. You have inspired me, i am going to investigate exactly what the gates foundation does!!!!!

No, I can't honestly say I share your suspicions.

You're certainly entitled to your feelings, but I personally admire Bill Gates for giving so much of his money away, though I admit I don't know much about where it goes.

Do you? You seem to suspect 95% of it goes to some nefarious cause.

You may have a better sense about this than I do, for all I know, but I say give the guys the benefit of the doubt. At the *very least*, what *harm* are they doing? I'd go further, because *my* gut feeling is that they are doing quite a lot of good, both individually and with pooled resources.

Though you acknowledge Mr. Buffett didn't leave his money to Bill Gates, but to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, you seem to be stuck on seeing it otherwise, since you say he left something like 60% of his wealth "to the NUMBER 1 RICHEST man..."

I am glad to see you reveal that you have nothing to support your argument. Many people who vehemently oppose something or someone cannot see that, or refuse to admit it. Their emotions control them to the point where they can't reason. In my opinion, that is one of the world's biggest problems, and is behind many acts of hatred and violence from wars all the way down to a nasty divorce.

I suggest you visit the Gates Foundation website to see where the money goes (as far as any of us know). It looks pretty innocuous to me, and possibly downright wonderful.

{sigh} No good dead goes unpunished -- or unsuspect.

There are plenty of reasons to be irritated with *Microsoft* -- and maybe even Mr. Gates -- over the years, but why pick on him (or Mr. Buffett) for apparently doing an honorable thing with lots and lots of their money? I wish I could do the same!

I completely disagree with you. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is an incredible charity. There are some bad ones out there, but this one is incredible.

And the donation by that other guy is legite- he's an odd duck and does things like this. I mean, how many billions does one man need? He probably figures that he might as well give it away now so he can see some good done with it while he is still alive.

what are you suspicious about? what is your theory?

Buffet and Gates are doing a good deed by donating more than 98% of their wealth to charity (after their death).

The Gates foundation is among the best charities.

What is your issue with that?

Instead of clapping and praising the 1 and 2nd richest why are you getting suspicious? Suspicious of what?

I live in Nebraska, where Buffet is from. His family has given much money to charity locally. The home he lives in is not what you would expect a person of his wealth to live in. No big fancy mansion. Also if you have seen any reports neither Warren Buffet or Bill Gates have left teh vast majority of their fortune to their children, but expect them all to work for living. Both have given massive amounts of money to make life better for less fortunate ones.

Let's see what evil they've created:

Thousands of free computers to kids who would never otherwise have the same exposure to them that you and I have.

Modern classrooms so that more children have a better chance to live the great American dream.

Providing researchers with the labs and the funding to find cures for some of the most crippling diseases afflicting mankind.

And on and on ...

The #2 richest is not leaving it to the #1 richest you moron. He is leaving it to a foundation that Bill and his wife started, that happens to do a lot of good. Everyone should be so selfless.

I think that it is wonderful that 2 wealthy men who could spend their money on anything they want are willing to use it for charity. They are to be praised, not vilified for no reason except your 'gut feeling.' How much do you contribute to charity?

Well, not "everyone knows" because if you knew the truth you would know otherwise.

And (here's the kicker): It is his money. He can do with it what he wants.
