first of all you both should be old enough to go into marriage with your eyes wide open. Your perspective mate should be your best friend. you should know how he or she reacts to adverse situations. If they are abusive now (verbal, emotional,or physical) marriage will only make it worse. You should speak openly and frankly to each other about all things including finances and sex. You should find out what the other person expects in a mate and honestly and truthfully examine yourself to see if you can honestly give him/her what they want. Can they give you what you want. COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATION,COMMUNICATION is a must. It has to be open and honest. Sexual attraction is good even great but it will not make a marriage or keep it going for very long. know if your partner is good with money ( another divorce maker) Discuss children where you want to live and if your house will be a revolving door for in laws and friends. Get to know the person very few marriages work when the person has known each other for a very short time. Above all remember cinderella and snow white are just fairy tales. Marriage is hard work but it can be the best and most enjoyable work you can ever have.

Someone who you can honestly say is your best friend, and they know you are theirs too. Life gets a little crazy sometimes ... best to have your best friend with ya!. Good Luck!
