Seriously, I have, as a PERSON, always found strength in a quote from the great Statesman, Robert Kennedy, said during his run for the Presidency, which ended in his assisination.
"Some men see what is, and ask 'Why?'. I see what never was and ask 'Why not?'"
The word "men" is merely semantics. I see myself as a Person, a Human Being. My gender does not define me, or my views and feelings. We, as women, have done a lot of self-defeating chest beating behind words.
Sexism is the same as racism. We have to see each other as people, first, and our sexual identity as secondary to the unique and blessed human beings we are.

i think this saying goes for everyone.
i tell my kids that they can do anything.
my parents and grandparents told me this as i grew up and i grew up without having to worry about limiting myself.
i have achieved things that even they are surprised.
my kids are the same. they surprise me.
funny what a little saying can do.
