If you still think it's Tinea Versicolor than try tea tree oil it works very well but it doesn't smell nice.
Good Luck
Use Nizoral when showering than buff your skin dry.
Apply tea tree oil overnight and take shower in the morning.
Also try not to drink beer and eat less sweets.
4 week treatment should help!
Good Luck

Did you try to go to a different dermatologist?

You should seek a second opinion for your skin condition. In the meantime, have you tried any of the over the counter fungal treatments like Lotrimin AT spray or any of the other antifungals? You might want to try Lotrimin AT out - my friend had something that looked like tinea versicolor and he started using the Lotrimin AT spray and it did clear up - but the catch is if he doesn't use it relatively frequently the symptoms come back.
Good luck!
