A lot of you ask about Eminem, Rhianna, R&B, Rap, Heavy Metal, etc. I don't eve know what half of that stuff is. OK, I regretfully know who Eminem is. Doesn't anyone listen to country or Christian music anymore???

I am somewhat close to your age, and I know what you mean. The bands today stink, with a few exceptions. I like The Strokes and Modest Mouse. They are the newest bands I've accepted.
It's hard to realize that we are not the "in-crowd" anymore, we are the grown-ups now. It sucks, but it's also pretty cool, because we got to live in a time where we heard all the great music our parents listened to, plus all the cool stuff that was being made in our day.

Your'e not getting old. Everybody has their own favourite types of music. Just because you don't listen to what's 'popular' doesn't mean anything. Christian Music is awesome! Too much music nowadays is depressing and talks about bad situations. It's always good to have some feel good music out there. My friends are obssessed with rap music and that kind of stuff but I really don't like it. All they talk about is doing drugs, robbing stores, and other bad stuff. And half the time you can't understand a word they're saying. Not to mention the fact that rappers aren't really 'singing'.

Lots of youngin's listen to country. Not many I know listen to true Gospel or Contemporary Christian stuff, unless its kind of mainstream, like P.O.D. (a rock band) was a few years back. There's still lots of people listening to it though, so don't feel bad. Most younger people I know (I'm 21) have at least some knowledge of the history of popular music, even if it's only in one field (rock, rap, jazz, etc.)

Well I am 53, but I know who and what all of that is. I don't have to like it all, but I know of it and have heard enough to decide yay or nay to each. A lot of people listen to country or christian music or they would not have those kinds of radio stations. Ditto to the other music such as R&B (rhythm and blues), rap, etc. So, does 53 make me old? I think not. Talk to the young ones, find out what it is that they like about what they listen to, and share your views on your music as well. Maybe you will both profit by it.

Nah, not getting old. Just listen to the music you like, give some of today's bands a chance. I was really surprised. Bon Jovi and John Cougar Mellencamp have both slipped over to country stations. Plenty of choices out there. Enjoy!

Aww.. I'm 21, all I listen to is country and when someone mentions a song or a singer to me I usually have no Idea what they're talking about unless it has something to do with country.
