Hey, Our dryers are related.
The one here is just doing the same thing. Sometimes it is a belt, sometimes it is time for the dryer junk yard
. I use this one now, for Paybacks. The neighbors dogs start barking very early in the morning. They are small yappers. Now the wife split with the dogs, and he is having escalated encounters with his female friends, out on the deck. Well, the dryer just bangs away with them. hehe
Soon, I have the go ahead to get a new one. Lucky me...unlucky jerk next door for now....hehe

There could be a coin that got stuck inside. While the dryer is stopped slowly rotate it by hand and try to listen inside where the noise is coming from.

If I remember right, dryers have felt strips that the tumbler spins on. Could be the felt is missing somewhere and it's metal on metal. It'd be a screeching sound. How loud would depend on how much felt is missing.
If it's not that, then it could be something stuck between the tumbler and dryer housing.

Depends upon what kind of noise it is. A loud hum or buzz would indicate the motor is going out. A squeal would have me looking at the belt. Clunking would tell me you left your shoes in the dryer.

Depends- 1. You have a large or heavy object inside the dryer, 2. It is striking something when it turns,

Loud squel = worn belt
If the dryer is actually moving around "clunking" on the floor. It's possible that one of the screw-on feet fell off.

Sounds like maybe the belt is loose. How old is it? Anyways check your belt on the backside. It might even of fallen off. Replace it if thats the case.

Is it a squealing noise? Could be your belt, or your motor.
It is usually cheaper to repair a dryer than to purchase a new one.
