The woman I am asking for.Has in her past been the victim of sexual assults(child hood)she now has Thrush of vagina.The same as she had when she was assulted as a child.She is wondering if the stress of her therapy is bringing it back..

Causes of vaginal yeast infections range from antibiotic use to stress. Some women have frequently recurring infections, while others may get a single yeast infection in their entire life. Some women have noted that a dietary change may trigger a yeast infection. Pregnancy tends to make women more susceptible to yeast infections.
Regular douching is not recommended as a way to prevent or treat a yeast infection. Douching tends to upset the pH balance in the vagina and actually worsen the problem.
Systemic Candidiasis
Candidiasis can infect the bloodstream, causing a very dangerous situation. Nearly three quarters of people who acquire a systemic infection die as a result. This situation typically occurs in individuals who have HIV or AIDS or cancer. Chemotherapy and other cancer-fighting drugs weaken the immune systems of cancer patients. In HIV, the most serious infections occur when the CD4+ cell counts are very low.
Deficiencies in iron, folate, zinc and vitamin B12 may also increase the risk of candida infection. In some individuals, excessive stress and severe depression can weaken the immune system, increasing the risk of systemic thrush.
Your friend needs to ask her gynecologist about the more serious types of yeast infections because there are many different names depending on the severity, location of the infection, and frequency of the infection. I hope this helps her!!

knowing what i know about vaginal infections, though, i would say yes...it is quite possible. yeast infections often result during stressful times in a woman's life.
