God makes the snow white to bring more light in the winter when the sun is sleeping. It's a reminder that although it's cold, the sun will wake up in the spring. When the sun comes back to us in the summer, it's so bright we don't need the whiteness on the ground anymore. So God takes the white and makes it into fluffy summer clouds, that will fall to earth in the winter again.
