sort of being manipulative in their own way like seeing what reaction will come out you (and others around you) if they do it. I'm an adult and I cry sometimes but its usually for legit reasons mentioned and not because somebody won't do or can't do what I want them to do. Are some people just more likely to use crying as a manupulative weapon. What kind of background do they come from...were they spoiled children or what?

Maybe they are just emotional people. But it depends what they are crying over.

Crying can be an emotional release which has nothing to do with manipulation. Tears may accompany great joy, laughter, frustration, allergies, colds, sinus problems, grief, and pain. Manipulation is a learned trait, and we all learn to do it. Crying may be a tool, but it isn't really all that effective. Most people have figured that out by the age of 12. Being resentful of someone who can get emotional release from their crying may indicate that one needs to allow more emotional release in that person's life, but they don't feel comfortable enough to do it, or they've had it deeply ingrained in their training as a child and young adulthood that crying is just not done.

Some people have spent a lot of time sould searching and for reasons unbeknownst to even them are subject to periods of tears. For instance... watching someone accept the gold medal at the olympics can make someone cry and that has nothing to do with sadness or mourning. But they can relate to the emotions of the person they are watching.

I am a 43 year-old male and I cry more than I want to. I was physically abused as a child and my nephew died at 4 1/2. Certain things hit a nerve with me and cause me to cry. It happens in church, it happens around kids, it happens watching TV. It is a part of me that won't go away.
