Instead of caving in to pressure from parents, teachers, friends, etc. you should first look at what interests you the most. The best career choices are those made with ones interests or passion in mind. Many people choose careers because they are cool or can generate money or fame. Take some time off and write down your interests and motivation (what makes you tick?). With that list in you hand, look for careers related to them. You can even Google search on related careers. You will be surprised that there are careers which exactly match your interests. Then go for it ! Good luck !

Do what your heart tells you to do. If you are not happy with what you are doing then you will never truly feel fulfilled with your career choice. Teaching is a wonderful job as you are preparing our youth for a successful future! If teaching is what you want to do then go for it. You will also be dealing a lot with courses that require computer work anyway, so if you change your mind, you can go to that at a later date. A lot courses are beginning courses required for a degree anyway. So this will give you plenty of time before you have to make any decisions on a specific degree if you are not 100% sure. Follow your heart because this is your future not anyone else's!

If you would like to become a teacher, look at the requirements for the degree and decide if you are up to the challenges of it. The same goes for computer science as well as 2 year degrees. After you decide what you want to do, apply to the schools which teach it.

Aim high. Work hard.

You sound like you are just starting college, if that is the case you have lots of time to decide what you want to do. I have changed my mind about 4 times and have a degree and still am unsure what i exactly i want to do. If teaching is what you want why dont you volunteer in a classroom of the age you would like to teach and go from there. Dont worry about your family or who ever wants to choose your career for you, you are the one who is going to have to do it...do what you like and what makes you happy.

If you want to teach you should teach. But, maybe you could meet your family/friends in the middle and become a teacher of computer science.

Have your personality traits measured using a psychometric tool, administered by a professional. For example, are you predominantly extroverted or introverted? Dominant or submissive? Patient or impatient? detail oriented and precise or a generalist? Find out what interests you or drives you. Experience different jobs. Visit schools or various industry to see what may be right for you.

You have to do what you feel in your heart! I wanted to be a fashion buyer and then decided to be a teacher and now I am and I love it! Everyday is different and the kids are so sweet! When you see that light bulb go off in their head, it is always special.
Good luck to you, we always can use more good teachers!

in your place, i should take the course that i want and at the same time is very useful in the economic status that we undergo. choosing teaching as a course is not bad for you like the job of that course and at the same time, teachers are very much in demand nowadays to other countries and as well as in ours.
