I went there for 3 days at the end of a long holiday which was probably a mistake. I was a weary traveler and it felt like a total sensory assault, all the lights and noise etc, but I did my best to enjoy it. I went to Circus Circus purely because of Fear and Loathing. I saw "O", the cirque du soleil performance at the Bellagio which was phenomenal, my heart still swells when I think about it. The fountain thing isn't bad either. I had THE best meal of my life at Nobu, located in the Hard Rock Hotel and I drank and gambled a lot too! Luckily quit while I was ahead. I found it hard to get around though, taxis won't take you along the strip, they'll take you 20 mins out of the way on the freeway. I did the roller coaster at New York, New York too which was cool. Packed a lot in, I'd go back one day but do it differently. I didn't meet a single 'real person' there though. Just tourists and workers. Bizarre.

I loved it. My husband and I were married just outside Vegas (at sunrise on a mountain) three years ago and we're heading there again in a few days.

You don't even have to gamble to have a lot of fun in Vegas (which is good because I can't bluff to save my life). You can just cruise the casinos (I'm a dork, I collected the coin cups from each casino), eat, take a gondola ride, climb the Eiffel Tower, see one of the many shows in Vegas, ride a roller coaster, see the Fremont Street Experience...it's a great place to visit.

The only thing was that it's so hot during the summer. I have no clue why we always pick the hottest month to go. Doesn't really matter since the casinos are always freezing!

I have been to Vegas twice. The first time there we rented a car and drove around to look at the desert scenery, Lake Mead, and visited the Hoover Dam. It was delightful country, but there is no green anything! I missed my Tennessee hills. However, we did win enough money to pay for our trip and motel stay. The second trip we stayed at a different place and we walked to wherever we wanted to go. It is true that Vegas is a city that never sleeps. We found everyone we met to be friendly on both trips. Make sure you see some shows if you go, and enjoy all the food at the different casinos. The food is really cheap there but very good. We had a wonderful time on both trips and we stayed a week each time.

Vegas is FUN! The hotels and casinos are amazing - you can spend hours walking from one to the next, checking everything out. The shopping and food is great, the gambling is fun, spas are amazing, there are shows and even some beautiful desert scenery if you can make it off the Strip. I usually only stay for a few days at a time - otherwise I spend to much money!

Vegas is a hell hole. Dirty, nasty, hot in the summer. Some nice sights on the strip because the hotels really keep things looking good, but I actually avoid Vegas if I can.

I always said I didn't want to go to Vegas b/c it seemed like it had a not so wholesome reputation. However, my husband and I eloped last July and got married in Las Vegas. Absolutely LOVED it and can't wait to go back.

Not really, I was stationed there when I was in the Air Force back in 98. Its nothing but casinos everywhere. A playground for rich people. Also, on the strip, its filthy and dirty, there's a whole lot of pornographic magazines and pictures laying everywhere on the streets. Even the taxi drivers flirt too much with the women. I was even sexually assaulted by a taxi driver. Its a good place maybe to visit, but not to live.

Loved It!! There is more to do than just gambling! We rented a car and explored the countyside. Hoover Dam is a great place to go. There is a mountain range just an hour outside of town; it has several motor tours through and around them. The sunset was breathtaking.

I've been to Vegas twice. I loved it there both times; however, I still have yet to see everything. By the time I get back there, I bet everything will be soooooo different.

Thankfully, I got to see Siegfried & Roy before Roy's terrible accident. :)
