Take it to a garage and have a diagnostics computer hooked to it....sounds to me like its a sensor....but there are many other things that can cause it....vacuum lines....bad gas....etc

Does it happen when you have the a/c on? If so there is a sensor that boost idle that May be bad. If it happens a different times and under different conditions it could be a small vacuum leak. Get a can of carb cleaner at a parts store and spray around the intake boots if idle goes up you have a leak.

Just take it to a shop. It could be too many things to list. Any sensor on that thing could be bad. Fuel pump, pressure regulator and, even a dirty fuel filter could cause that. Other possibilities.. coil need tune up really dirty air filter bad timing and plugged up fuel injectors. So you see theres way to many things it could be. Just have to tough it out and get it checked. Sucks dont it?

you need to give more info ... like what yr is it ... because if it is an older model then it is not fuel injected ... it could be that your idle is not set right or that you need a tune up or you need a fuel filter it could be a lot of things but it probably has something to do with your gas making it to your engine. just guessing!

fuel rail or filter are dirty causing your injectors to missfire or injectors worn and need to be replaced. In any case get it pluged to the diagostics computer at a shop for $20 bucks or spend the $90 to get one yourself and diagnose the problem. This type of vehicle is prety easy to fix yourself and parts are inexpensive, have fun and learn.
