It's important to find active things he CAN do, or he'll feel helpless and like he can't do anything. Go for walks, frisbee, catch maybe, soccer, lawn bowling, playing with a dog, indoor stuff like painting etc. Be creative, you can always modify activities to work for him.

RE:
Any fun summertime activities for an 11 year old with a broken arm? Please help.?
Does anyone have any ideas for a kid with a broken arm? He is right handed and his left arm is broken. He can't swim, ride a bike or rollerskate. Can somebody please help alleviate his boredom?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully this is a time in his life when he will discover some new interests.
Art school, Computer programing, cooking, skydiving(no just kidding) chemistry. There's a lot of things that a kid can get into that don't include physical challenges.
Try the cooking thing. It worked for me when I was a kid.
Good Luck

Hi,
Buy the boy a model train set. Either a new one or an older vintage type on ebay.
These are fun to set up and run and one hand works !

My son has a broken wrist. he can still ride a bike. As for swimming, we cover his cast with a plastic bag, If he gets the cast wet, we just go get another on put on. Although we live in canada, so it doesn't cost anything for health care. So getting the cast wet doesnt matter.

Badminton is a good outdoor game, as it doesn't require too much strain. A road trip or hike is always a good idea.

amuesment parks, kick ball games in the park or just going to the park with friends, acting/drama classes, hiking or camping, or art programs. He may not be able to get his arm wet but he can get his feet wet at the beach if u live near one. those are just some ideas i have.
