X-14 is in my opinion the best mildew remover ever. I've used it for a few years now and I think it does a great job. It takes almost no scrubbing to remove the mildew and it lasts up to a couple of months. Try it! I'm sure you will be happy with the results.

I hate mildew but love a nice clean fresh shiny bathroom. So for bathroom tile walls and if you have a glass shower door the best product I found good is "Soft Scrub." And get a spong. You may need to apply just a tiny amount of presssure but it will do the job and do it well especially for soapscum.

You can use one of th popular mildew removers, or even plain old chlorine bleach. Make sure that you wash everything off after the bleach. After that, spray the surfaces with some borax solution. The mildew will stay away for weeks. You can use the borax laundry stuff for this.

Bleach - please wear gloves and be sure the room is well-ventilated; or if you would prefer not to touch, Tilex Mildew Remover works well. You also need to be sure the vent fan in your bathroom works, and turn it on every time you take a bath/shower. The high humidity provides ideal growing conditions for mildew.

The above answers of bleach is the best way.

After you bleach and clean, with soap and water, look and make sure the paint is a semi-gloss (if it reflects light, it is probably semi-gloss). Flat paint in humid areas, like bathrooms, will grow mildew.

If it was painted in flat paint, paint a semi-gloss in the bathroom. It is less porous than flat paint, and it is less likely to grow mildew. There is also a product you can add to your paint to help prevent it in trouble areas called M-1. It is a mildewcide.

(if it is already semi-gloss, and you want to repaint it, make sure you scuff the shine off the walls with some 150-18- grit sandpaper.)

Hi There,
I prefer Vinegar. Make it a weekly, or monthly task. Especially in the Window Corners, don't wait til you can see it.

I agree, Bleach in the shower, and with adequate ventilation. I just spray on a product, designed especially for the job, open the windows, turn on the fan, and get the hell out. It travels through the air, so make sure the children aren't around.

Mildew and mold spores travel at night through the air. ug.
Inhaling bleach vapors is a great way to lose your sense of smell.

My spell check says change ug to ugo. So, U Go girl......
