I moved here with my family (husband and son) 2 years ago. Here's what I think:

How is/are the:
1. Weather- AWESOME if you like it hot in the summers and mild the rest of the year. I'm from the northeast and my husband is from MN and- well WE LOVE IT HOT.
2. Jobs- I was able to relocate as did my husband but I see a lot of opportunities on careerbuilder and monster...
3. Crime- Haven't had to deal with it in the town I live in but I guess it's everywhere, isn't it?
4. People- AWESOME. I haven't ran into too many unhappy people here. The sun seems to shine a lot I guess!
5. Entertainment - Well compared to where??? The downtown areas of Dallas and Ft. Worth are up and coming and fun. Things for kids to do... great and there are tons of lakes and local rec centers for pools.

I love Dallas TX

1. Weather- HOT AND HUMID pretty much in the upper 90's
2. Jobs- Not great right now. Houston/Austin is "hopping" we're just waking slow here...
3. Crime- the same as any other big city. Our police chief has really been cracking down on people lately even w/in the police force.
4. People- There are all kinds so just becarefull and you'll do fine.
5. Entertainment- Everything from redneck country, urban country, rock n roll, and more. You can find anything here lol.

I've lived in this area for 30 years and you really can never get bored.

I live about 30 minutes outside of Dallas so I hope I can help you.

weather = has it's really good days, and it bad days near December/January, February even. Because theres a good chance it might snow a lil bit. But usually the weather feels great.
jobs = dont know what kind of job your looking for but dallas has a wideee range of opportunites.
crime = last year I heard it was ranked #1 in the nation. But I guess it depends on who youre with....lol nothings bad ever happened to me
people = good & bad people. But you can say that about any town. But for the most part the people are good.
entertainment = somethings always goin on in Dallas! And it's so pretty at night. And during the day you could go to the Dallas Galleria Mall. It's HUGE. It's 3 stories high with a skating rink, filled with nice stores and everything.

All in all it's a great town. I'm planning on myself living there one day.

The weather is very humid--the best weather in Texas is in the Hill Country outside of Austin. My husband and I are going to go explore that area again as a possible retirement area.

I think jobs are good there, and in Austin as well.

There is more crime in Dallas than Austin, etc. because it's a big city.

The people in Texas, in general, are very nice. I don't like to dress up as much as they do in Dallas, especially in the heat. I think the people are nicer in the smaller towns, because it is less formal and everyone is more relaxed.

Of course entertainment is more plentiful and varied in a big city, but I like less people and places to walk, hike, bike, fish, etc. and that would be the Hill Country. I forgot to say golf--for my husband.

1. Weather - The winter air is dry, there are usually a few instances of snow (not feet, think inches), but overall they are very icy. In the summer, temperatures stay in the 90's usually, the air is humid, and it is not unusual to go through boughts of drought.

2. Jobs -

3. Crime -

4. People - True southern hospitality - opening doors, yes ma'am/sir, polite, caring; very warm, friendly atmosphere.

5. Entertainment - There is great shopping and places to eat.

1. Beyond awful. It's the only place I've seen where it actually rains mud. (Dust storm + rain = mud.)

2. Dunno

3. Dunno

4. There are a grip of rich snobs who look down on you. These rich witches are trashy too, they wear muddy boots with fur coats in Saks Fifth Avenue. And you always have to be on your guard in the city. It's like someone is looking to roll you.

5. Restaurants aren't that notable. Better bar scenes in Austin for live music.
