If you ask a Yahoo! question:

60% of the answers will be some religious person expounding some nonsense.

20% of the 'answers' are impossible to understand.

19.99% will be strictly opinion with no connection to any facts or reality.

.01% will be answers that are well thought out and informative.

Generally, I think that you are correct. There is a huge problem with getting good answers on here. But, I think that I am slightly more optimistic than you;) I would change the percentages to as follows:

40% of the answers will be a religious person giving you religious advice (which may or may not be nonsense depending on your persuasion)

30% of the 'answers' do not answer your question because the author has not read to the bottom of what you wrote

20% are impossible to understand

10% are good answers that are informative and useful

Of course, these percentages vary on the basis of the complexity of the question- the more complex the question (requiring more than just a facial analysis), the worse the answers get:)

I don't have enough time on my hands to calculate all that, but
if I did - I'm terrible at math and wouldn't get far.

However, I'm not religious - I'm spiritual. There's a difference.
I try not to confuse people, I do express my opinions but try to
encourage not force, and I always think it out the best I can and
I have no clue if it's at all informative because that's all 'relative'.

I'm not good at math, but I can tell the difference between a
glass half-empty and a glass half-full, and I also know that .01%
it pretty darn low for an estimate of general discussion worth.

Didn't you use 2 points to ask this question?

What percentage do I fall into your relative categories with?

Now that you don't like me, I'm probably expounding nonsense -
you don't 'get' what I'm saying or my opinion doesn't matter because your version and my version of facts and/or reality are not the same.

No, you are not right. Your statistical information is based on anecdotal evidence, was subjectively interpreted, and is - more likely than not - woefully inaccurate with respect to the statistical breakdown.

Put me in the "opinion with no connection to facts or reality" category, but I'll be damned if I admit that it's 19.99%.

Have a nice day :D

I think that Yahoo Answers was an excellent idea that has been abused by a large number of people. I like to be silly at times and my record shows this. I also have a serious side with intellect. I don't "troll for points" as someone said. Although I think I've seen people do that. I say what I think.

sounds right to me. most of the time i get nonsense and maybe three out of 24 answers are actually good. the 60% religious one might be a bit off because the only time i get religious answers is when i ask a religious question. and there is nothing wrong with being religious.

If you believe that, you must be in the .01% percent tile of the people with less than slightly above average intelligence! Because no one would waste their time and energy asking a question in which only 1 person in 10,000 would give any insight and thought to.

No you're left. Sorry couldn't resist.
I think that you forgot one people just answer nonsense to get points.
Unfortunately I think I usually fall in the 20% range of not being understood.

I think you're a bit off on your numbers:

99%: People trolling for points
0.9%: Unrelated to the question at hand, or making fun of the asker of the question
0.09% : Illegable, excessive use of 'l33t'
0.01%: Useful, and well thought out.

No. I wouldn't stay at YA, if I thought so. You've been very unlucky here. I usually get lots of useful answers, and only a few useless ones.
