Try Clearasil or Oxy, but don't worry too much about it. You look beautiful just the way you are.

It depends on the person. For me, I tried a lot of stuff like Proactive and a bunch of face washes. I probably have well over $100 worth of facial products just for acne in my bathroom. What got rid of it was the Proactive Finishing Mask (I only used it once and my forehead was clear) and Clean and Clear Acne Advantage (it's a face wash I use 2 every day). I also use the Clearasil ultra vanishing (or something like that) everyday. That works great!!!! It also has a $ back guarantee. It's like $8 but it's well worth it. These may not work for you depending on your skin type. Another option would be to see a dermatologist. That would probably be your best bet.

Well, first of all - washing ur face everyday is very important but we should also keep in mind that over-washing your face can be almost as bad as not washing it at all. When you wash your face too often you are stripping away the natural oils of your skin, which could cause your skin to become dry. So your body says 'oh no! what's going on? let's try to overcome this dryness!' and then your skin starts secreting more oil which clogs your pores. So that can be a serious problem (believe me, I used to do it).

Secondly, it all depends on what your washing your face with. The active ingredients in face washes differ so different washes will give you different results. The two most famous active ingredients are Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid (for some reason it looks like i spelt that wrong). Those come in various products from OTC face washes like Neutrogena to the ones you have order separately, such as Proactiv, and even prescription. Also, if your skin is sensitive to the active ingredient, or any ingredient for that matter, then the product may seem to be not working when in reality it is, but the other ingredient is causing a whole other problem.

The best advice I can give is to test the products out yourself, because you never know what will work for you until you actually try it yourself. Don't go by other people's opinions. If nothing works then see your doctor because there are plently of prescription creams that have worked wonders for friends of mine. Continue to wash your face, but try not to strip away the goodness in it. Also drink lots of water to keep your system clean.

** Also, if you use other things on ur face, such as creams, lotions, sunscreens, makeup, etc. that could also be clogging your pores and causing you to break out more, especially if the base ingredient is oil.

No it does not. Acne is caused as a result of bodily processes that occur a lot deeper in your skin layer than washing your face can help. It does help, it cleans the surface of your skin, but it can't like seep half an inch through your pores and clean out your sebacious glands. You would need to see a dermatologist and get medicine for that, if you only have minor acne then just use stuff like cetaphil or benzoyl peroxide which is probably the strongest over the counter acne medicine. It comes in stridex non-alcohol pads now

This is a stage in life, and washing too much (Like 3 times or more) can cause scarring. Don't do this! Wash with a mild acne soap that contains Benzoyl Peroxide as the active ingredient twice a day. Then use an oil free cover up and concealer.

To help fight acne, avoid certain foods & drinks... fried foods (greasy, oily), too many sweets & caffeine>>>sodas (because of the caffeine, sugar & acid), tomatoes & fruit that have a lot of acid, chocolate (caffeine). Nervousness can also cause the pores to be hyper-active. Some lotions can have too much oil & cause the pores to be filled with greasy yuck. Sugar makes the pores hyper-active too. It can become worse when there's a hormonal change (especially during the monthly cycle).

Many things make acne worse, like stress, lack of sleep, certain foods and even touching your face. Use a good astringent, like witch hazel, to dry up the oil, and stay away from the above. Your face should clear up.
Good Luck

I use a lotion that contains salicylic acid. If your salicylic acid treatment comes in a form that washes off right away, it doesn't stay on your face long enough to do any good. If I have a large spot, i use benzoyl peroxide in a LOW dose, because it works without drying too much.

maybe your washing your face too much
it actually increases oil production
so maybe loosen up on the toner
and maybe switch brands of face wash
dont wear a lot of make up either
because that clogs pores
and then with the oil production
it will result in acne
so just drink water
and exercise
and eat healthy

I wash mine everyday too. Try to keep your hands away from your face completely, unless you wash them first. See a dermatologist also, the Rx he may be able to give you might be a huge help.

try facewash that contains salicylic acid, don't block ur pores with any substances like pwder or any facecream for lightenind etc, make sure u wash ur face the right way (massage gently for 1-2 minutes with warm and rinse with cold, rinse 15-20 splashes of clean running water). btw, don't overwash, 2 times a day is enough, blot an oily face with blotters- gently. take multivites, drink more water, eat more vege and detox more often. it worked for me, hope it works for you!
