Bring it to a repair shop that is smog certified. Ask them to look at and adjust whatever is necessary. The thing is that when a car come from the factory, the emissions are within the tolerances set by the EPA or the individual states. The problems arise when you put all these thingies on it that mess with the spark advance, computer, timing, fuel delivery etc...

Try putting the vehicle back to what it was designed with in the first place. Those engineers make alot more money than you do and it's for a reason. Don't you think that if they thought all the stupid crap you put on the car was worthy that they would have done it on at the factory?

did you upgrade your fuel inectors? larger fuel injectors will make you run too rich and ruin emissions. also have someone check your timing to see if your plugs are not properly installed. if you have a chip take it out or turn it off for emissions. if all else fails you'll have to get it inspected. if you live in california then it wont pass with a cold air intake . they are way too strict out there.

If I got your car in my shop I would want to check the following for the following..

Ignition timing.. Make sure it is not advanced. You could probably retard it 5 degrees from where it is and make it pass.

Timing belt timing.. Make sure it is correct.

Cap and Rotor.. are these in good condition?

Let me know if I can help further. Emissions diagnosis is one of my specialties.

before doing the smog test, change the oil. Make sure you check the coolant level, does it run hot? Check to make sure the pcv valve is good,EGR valve is good, make sure the radiator fans work.Check the ignition timing, make sure it is within spec.

here is some advice try changing the O2 censor and check your
timing, second of all go to another mechanic for a second opinion.

good luck.

you should not run octane boost in your car . you can cause your O2 sensor to fail . two reason that i can think of is 1: you have a bad oxygen sensor . 2: your PCM or ECM is bad . my money is on your O2 sensor .
