You question is why when your heart hurts, do you think of suicide? There is more to this question I sense. I sense some underlying feelings and issues that perhaps you are thinking of suicide. If this is true, I strongly suggest you call someone for help - suicide prevention - 911 - someone. It does not hurt to talk through your feelings and get help. My heart has been hurt many times and I have never felt suicidal. I wish you luck. You are a good person and no situation should ever be that extreme that a life should be lost for it.

If you are meaning a "broken heart" situation, most people don't think of suicide during times of heart hurting situations. But some do.

For those I would say to remember that "our" happiness is not based on rather we have hurtful situtaions, but rather on how we choose to handle them.

Hearts are broken, people die, relationships end every day. It is all in how we choose to have these events effect us.

We, as humans, morn the loss of so many things. The death of someone close to us, (parent or spouse) divorce, loss of a child.

And the loss of employment can cause certain fellings of suicide.

But you have to remember that "lose" has a place in our emotions and well being. Loss, is not however the end of "our" lives.

There are others on earth that depend on us. Say you lost a partner?spouse? You may have children to consider. There may be those that depend on YOU to carry on in the absence of someone else?

The loss of a parent? The other parent will need your support.

Just remember that you can not perpetuate the loss by clinging to their memory for any prolonged period of time. And there is no set rule for how long to hurt over a loss on any level.

It is a personal decision to maintain the hurt. You eventually must move on. Thoughts of, or the act of, suicide will NOT comfort the loss. Nor give those that will equally hurt by the loss of YOU any comfort.

If you have those that love and need You? Then turn the pain around. If you feel so much pain in the loss of this certain person? Could you "cause" that same pain in another?

People think of suicide when they are at a loss of how to manage that loss. You must console yourself with what comes next and how to manage YOUR life under these circumstances.

Find peace in the everyday things...............

That is not normal. If you are thinking of suicide, you should seek help right away. Even though you may be hurting and thinking that it will never get better, it will. I promise. There are people who care about you, I don't even know you and I care. If you commited suicide and I knew about it I would cry and my heart would be hurt. I tried to commit suicide before and when I came out of the hospital I realized how many people care about me and how many lives I would change if I succeeded. Sometimes people think of suicide but won't attempt it. Its the easiest way out of things but if you do it, you will hurt many many people. Even people who don't even know you.

It's very hard to live with a hurting heart but it will not last. It will stop hurting when you replace what went wrong with something that makes you happy. If you are thinking of ending your life go right to your family, friends, or someone right away. It's not the answer to a hurting heart. That is a medical condition and you need help. Please don't be alone during this time, I BEG OF YOU TO GO AND TALK TO SOMEONE and tell them what you wrote here.

if something has devestated me, if let the emotion flow out without judging it, then i always feel more complete afterward. emotional pain just doesn't go away on it's own. it is a part of yourself that is calling for your attention. listen to what your heart has to tell you.

i think most people have thought of suicide at one time or another. it isn't uncommon or unnatural. if you find yourself wanting to take action, it would be wise to seek someone who can help you that you feel safe with.

I not sure but I would guess two reasons:

1. Something we carryover from childhood. Some children run away or play dead to make their parents feel sad in retaliation being punished or not getting their way.

2. We do not like pain - physical or emotional. With emotional pain sometimes it is hard to see that it WILL go away after time. Unfortunately, TIME is the only thing that will heal it.

Emotional pain is the most devestating pain you can experience. The only reason you think of suicide is to escape the pain. If you can tolerate it one day at a time, it will gradually fade. Do you have anyone you can talk to about your feelings?

It's an easy way for your heart to heal....Or so they say. I wouldn't know about the rest because I'm not dead and wouldn't know if the heart would be healed or not. I rather deal with a heartache then my life gone. Different strokes for different folks.
