If you are ovulating today, it is probably too late this cycle. It takes the sperm a few hours to get to the egg, and the egg only *lives* for a few hours, so you need to have sex *before* ovulation. The closer you time it, the higher the likelihood. Sex 3 days before ovulation *may* be close enough for you to get pregnant, but only if you were already fertile and only if he has sperm with a relatively long life span. (3-5 days is the *maximum* lifetime of sperm in the female body.) Even if everything is timed just right, you only have about a 30% chance of conceiving in a single month, and less (sometimes none) if you get the timing off.

However, how did you determine when you would be ovulating? If you were off by a day or two in either direction, you will have an excellent chance of conceiving. And most methods of determining ovulation (other than charting signs of fertility) are often off by that much.

Good luck!!

Once the egg is ovulated it is actually only fertile for about ONE DAY!!!! Sperm can live in a women body for up to 5 days....so that means that sperm have to be deposited into the vagina 5 days before and/or 1 day after and anything in between for the egg to get fertilized. There is a good chance you can get pregnant, but fertilization doesnt always happen the first time you try...some people have to try for years before they can get pregnant. Good Luck!!

it does not take to weeks for the egg to get fertilized like the other lady said...it takes 3-7 days. just wait and see, though, your best bet is to have sex every 2-3 days so that way you always have enough sperm in there, incase you ovulate when your not expecting. this is what i was told. good luck, but dont stress out about it, not good for your body or a baby:)

not nessaseraly its still a 50 50 chance. and it takes more than a day to become pregnant cause it just dont work that way as soon as u have sex ur not pregnant it takes time for the sperm to get to the egg and them to know if its gonna form a baby.

I dont understand why people always ask "if they have sex today will they be pregnant tomorrow"
Absolutly not it takes at least 2 weeks for the egg to be fertilised.

It means that if you try to get pregnant now, it is the most likely time of the month that is could happen. There are no absolute positives in life.

Know one will be able to answer that question directly, the only way you will find out is if you miss a period, then wait a few weeks and take a Preg. test. If you still fell unsure go to hospital and find out.
