I suggest putting a piece of food in and turning off the lights, snails should collect on the food after a while then you can remove the whole thing. Keep doing this till the snails are gone, then do it once a week or once a month because there will still be a few too tiny to see. A few won't hurt. If they are growing THAT much you may be overfeeding your fish though. I keep snails, so I don't advocate killing them. DON'T smush them with your fingers though, if you get cut you could potentially get a nasty life threatening infection.
