Jane Eyre and Great Expectations are good, read them both, they both belong to the Victorian era, so it would be good if you can read them both, just to get an idea about how they lived at that time, but still you can focus on one of them for your project. I'd pick Great expectations, the themes belong to no time really, you can apply its themes to real situations today, also, I'd recommend the movies two, Jane Eyre (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and reat Expectations(Gwyneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke), great movies!! enjoy

OHHH! I loved Jane Eyre. I also loved Great Expectations. I haven't read Cold Sassy Tree. I think that Jane Eyre is easier to read than Great Expectations, but since you are a guy (I am assuming that you are from your avatar), you would probably enjoy Great Expectations more- Jane Eyre is VERY girly.

I would go with Great Expectations also, especially since you are a guy. Jane Eyre is very much more for girls.

Great Expectations is a GREAT read btw -- if you love to read you will love this book.
