It depends on how long Ukraine can keep a clean sheet. They play patient, boring football, and the more adventurous Aussies were frustrating Italy so you can imagine what it might be like against ukraine.Italy were visibly frustrated by the australian defence, and had it not been for totti australia would have won in extra time. Italy are favourites but in soccer just one moment is all that is required to shock, and Ukraine have quality players like Voronin, Shevchenko and Rebrov. Italian illdiscipline may also be crucial, as many Italians are on yellows from the Australia game, while Ukraine has very few, if none. As a result Ukraine cannot be discounted.

For a sake of football I hope Italy will win.
However given the unfortunate state of Italian football Ukraineans may squeeze the 0-0 again and then win penalty's
Whoever wins Italy-Ukraine is going to be most boring quarterfinal for sure. I guess best idea would be to sikp the play after the 30 min of so if it will be something Ukr-Switserland alike and go straight to the penalty shoot-outs.

I support Ukraine, but based on past results I expect that Italy will win. I just hope that Ukraine plays the game that they are capable of.

Yes, Italy is overrated and has been really lucky with their draw....they are the worst team in the final 8. If they played Spain, Argentina or Portugal it would be an Italian bloodbath.

In Shevchenko, Ukraine have 1 of the best stiker in europe but unfortunately they're firing blank except against lowly rated Saudi Arabia. Their chances are slim but Italy are not any better. It'll be very much depends on the form of Shevchenko.

yes they do we qualified w/out shevchenko we lost to spain because the team was nervous and after that we did good and then they stuck out the best defensive team in the world cup switzerland to win saved 3 penalty kicks no controversy in the game at all and the italians won off a bs free kick so momentum is for the Ukrainains talent maybe w/ the Italians but Ukraine will prevail w/ strength and determination

well italy is in the higher class of socer but this is not their year so i think i ukrain has realy good chances i mean if they just get their game together like they did against saudi arabia

Yes they'll win. This comes after seeing Italy against Australia, Italy are screwed! Juventina, you seem quick to pay out Australia but you can't cope it when you get your own.

They do......but the problem for them is that Shevchenko plays in serie a & he is well read bt hte italians. I doubt he will do anything against italy. But then again you where the difference is ? italy have much more experience which will prove the diference.

i was very excited for ukraine but now i feel sorry for them. they have no shot at beating italy because buffon is an excellent keeper and they have more stars on their team in the likes of iaquinta, totti, nesta, pirlo. italy is one of the favorites to win the world cup and personally they are my pick to win it all.
