Reading sheet music?

Question

What kind of music do you think is easier to read. and what kind of music is hard for you to read? Why?
The kind of music I Find easy to read is guitar tabs.
The kind of music I find hard to read is piano music.

I teach myself how to play the piano abd now am teaching myself to play the guitar. I have picked up on learning songs on the guitar faster because it seems easier for me. I too have been in choir and having to sing with piano more than guitar even though i did it a couple a times

For me for reading guitar tabs I just follow the number of the fret but i don't reallt know the note is that i am playing unless it is 0 for a note which is just the string which i can usually can get

I totally agree with you. I've played piano from a young age until present and still have a hard time reading the notes that are above or beneath the staff (is that what the bars are called?) Anyway, I learned guitar as an adult, and picked it up within a year or so no problem. Maybe it's just easier because there are only 6 strings vs. what? 88 keys. I don't know why, but I agree with you.

I'm the total opposite. I tried to sit down and teach myself the guitar; like I do with every other instrument, and had a hard time reading. Piano is so much easier for me; flute even easier because you're not working with the bass line.

I feel the opposite. Of course, it is probably my training. For instance, I can sing along better to pianno music than guitar music but that is because I played piano and sang in a choir.

You probably learned to play the guitar first.

Drum Notation, after you get used to it is really easy. Guitar is easy too, except the whole strumming, that was not the first thing to come to me! Most music is easy once you get used to it, the hardest part for me is remembering which key is which! Piano is less complicated when you know where everything is and can make a fast transition. i find saxaphone the hardest to remember.

The piano notes and it is very easy to read . But not the Guitar notes because people be giving u a hard time to practice the guitar notes and so it is very easy to read piano notes instead of guitar notes. u can bearly see the strings on the guitar because a guitar is really big?

im the reverse of that. i learned on piano and just picked guitar up, so sheet music is easier to me. I might just depend on what you use first.

yeah on my lil sister's guitar i was playing and trying to teach myself i got the whole number fret thing you know but i was trying to also teach my self how to read actual music. but i kinda go by the fret's numbers too like how when it says to put your finger on fret number___ so i would put my finger there. So yeah that worked for me but i still think it would be better if i could read actual notes and stuff. So im gonna teach myself that. im hoping since i bought a bass that teaching myself bass will be a lil easier with the notes and stuff. but i won't give up. I'll go find someone to teach me lessons on how to play bass if i have to. I won't give up.........

i find it is easy to read the piano music.. and play..
but i know someone who can can read music on piano and guitar, maybe because of her talent.

I can read both without problem. I taught myself everything I know and I know how to play the guitar, the bass, the piano, the drums, and bagpipes.
