While the bible is very gay, I suggest:
Non-Fiction: The Violet Quill or The Celluloid Closet
Fiction: The Tales of the city books by Armistead Maupin -- hilarious!

There are a lot of good books out there.
A few authors to try Ann Rice, Christopher Rice (her gay son, also an author), Armistead Maupin writes the "Tales of the City" series, Alice Walker "The Color Purple", anything by Octavia Butler (her books have gay and bisexual characters but are not gay-themed), Audre Lourde is great for poetry.
What kind of stuff do you like to read? Sci-fi, drama, adventure, poetry? It's all out there.

If you like mysteries and want a gay themed mysterie, look for any of the 15 or so written by Mark Richard Zubro.
My personal favorite Zubro mystery is "Drop Dead"

It depends on your favorite subject: romance, sci fi, adventure, westerns, etc. Chicago has a great gay library. Check on line for Gerber Hart Library. They will be able to suggest lots of titles. Do you have a gay center or gay library in your city?

Ooh, there was one book....
For the life of me, I can't remember the author, but the tite is "Keeping you a Secret", and it's about a girl who realizes she's a lesbian. Also...
Anne Rice is a really good one. Love her work.
