It can't just be racism against hispanics in general, since Cubans have been welcomed for decades, and have added so much culture and diversity to South Florida.

So why all the fuss towards Mexican people?

Look around you; who "runs" this country? Mexicans clean, they build, they repair, they cook, they serve, they do the gardening, they pick up the trash, they work in the factories - they are an integral part of our society whether you want to admit it or not.
The thing is, like one other person stated, it is an "immigration" thing not Mexican....what about all the South Americans, all the Asians, all the Canadians, Russions, Iranians, Indians, that are here with expired work permits, getting free or low interest business loans to own their own business, have a better opportunity than some of us citizens to drive around in Mercedes, Porches, Bentley,s, etc.
In essence, we need to concentrate on ALL illegals, close ALL the borders til we can get some of this mess straigtened out.

Good grief... why does everyone try to make this into a racial issue? Speaking as someone living in a border state (TX), I can honestly say that skin color and nationality have little to do with why people are so ticked off about illegal immigration. We don't care that they're Mexican. Hispanic people of all stripes have lived and worked in the US for years, and in most of the border states they were actually here first! What has people so mad is that key word: ILLEGAL.

Those who come here illegally drain the system by using government services without paying taxes in return. The billions of dollars they send home every year are billions that don't stay in the U.S. They are "cutting in line" in front of those in Latin America and around the world that are trying to come here legally. Finally, having an open border poses a big security risk, especially in this day and age.

Illegal immigration from Cuba is no more ethical than the illegal immigration from Mexico, but it is slightly more tolerable because of what they are fleeing. Many Cubans come here to escape Communist oppression, while most Mexican illegals are just trying to make a few extra bucks.

In conclusion, it's the illegal nature of the Mexican "exodus", not the nationality of those sneaking in, that has most people so stirred up.

First of all the Cubans , when they're coming into land they have to actually step on the land in order to stay here. They're fleeing a communist dictator country to seek assylum. A little bit different. All people are welcome in America, but just like the guy said above they have to be legal and not jump ahead of the line. They are searching for work to feed their family in Mexico as it doesn't pay very well down there. I have a Mexican friend who is waiting for the immigrant law to pass. He's such a good person. So kind. They're people, too. It's just it's got to be done by the laws governing immigration. I went through with it with my first two wives.

A large majority come over here, live off the system, commit crimes, and do not add anything positive to our society. If ANYONE wants to come to America, they need to do it legally and work legally, not under the table. And I'm sick and tired of people saying "if the mexicans weren't here who would do all the "dirty" jobs" Americans would do it for pete's sake and the difference is they wouldn't do it for mere pennies and then take the money OUT of the country. We choose what jobs we take, if the pay isn't good enough, don't take the dang job. if you're not qualified for a better paying job, get an education, LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES, QUIT BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR PROBLEMS. (general statement not aimed at the person asking the question)

Personally for me it is not that I am against letting mexicans in (or anyone for that matter) it is more about law. We, as Americans, vote for laws and guidelines. Maybe not all Americans agree with everything in politics but ultimately we live by these rules and guidlines. And the thought that someone can come into our country and not follow the laws that we set for ourselves does not sit well with me. Fine come to America but do it legally. There have been so many that have come before and done it legally that by just allowing others to live here illegally is like a slap in the face. But to be honest I dont care if the have greencards or not. The government just needs to set something up that they can register. If you are going to live in America then live like Americans. I do not mean that you have to speak english (because I dont even care about that) I mean pay taxes, work, mesh with american life. That is what I mean. By all means come, set up a life, raise a family, prosper. Just please until the government sees that the current immigration policies are not working try to do it as legal as possible. Sorry to write so much but I guess I feel more passionate than I thought.

They are ILLEGAL! Let them get citizenship like everyone else. They don't take jobs that nobody else wants, they work cheaply (and send their money back home, where it is worth alot more than ours), thus keeping Americans from working the jobs at a decent wage. It is the business that hire them that are to blame.

They get all kinds of benefits, that we are paying for, and don't pay taxes. Would you get that kind of treatment if you went to a foreign country? Would you get all that by being an American citizen?

The Cubans shouldn't be allowed to stay here either. We get all kinds of criminals coming into this country from both countries, and no way to check their prison records. Once they get here, they commit alot of crimes, watch the news!

If they came here legally, there won't be a problem. But to sneak in here like thieves in the night, that is not the way to do things. You can't break the law then ask to be treated fairly. The Cubans are running from Fidel Castro. Who are the Mexicans running from?

I easily have information for you, the in uncomplicated phrases real "people" will be Apache, Navajo, Sioux or the different member of the Indian international locations. maximum Mexicans fall into that bracket. Has anyone noticed that is not the educated or well of Mexicans that chose to come to this Country.
Many of them come and bring families that are depend ant on our tax dollars. Sure they work but they are overrunning our cities and towns. No one likes it when 15 people are living in one house and some in the garage. They do not know how to take care of their houses or cars or public facilities like parks and schools. They just use them up and expect others to put them back.

At this point its not just mexicans its any i;llegal, most are mexicans, they come here and they not all but alot want everything for free. where in most cases they do free medical, they are on welfare, they dont have to pay taxes. Now if an american wants to get a drivers license they have to jump thru hoops with paper work, but mexicans they just have to show up. Its not about racism at all its about, being illegal.
