yeah depends what part you are in australia like young kids on the coast will go to the beach and markets and shopping and hangout for social activities in land in the country some kids hang out with there friends go camping paddock bashing driving around the farms, schools are ok didnt like my school much but exchange students always fitted in, jobs some kids get jobs at the fast food chains or supermarkets or work for mum and dad. really depends what part of australia u r interested studying in. does the exhnage student place have a website they may offer a list if where they run in around australia u maybe get leads from there and decide on a place you like the most...

I would also encourage you to come here, not because I'm an Aussie, but because it really is a great place here. :)
What do we do for fun? Go to the beach, walk around the city + Chinatown, go to Luna Park etc. There are a lot of great places for teens and people in general to hang out.
You'll see people playing footy in parks, going to karaoke, and well, it's just a relaxed place.
And that's only in Sydney. ;)
